Together, we serve!

Dear Colleagues,

The Government will soon launch the territory-wide COVID-19 Vaccination Programme to all Hong Kong residents in different phases according to the risk categories.

The Hong Kong Academy of Medicine (HKAM) will provide training to healthcare professionals working at Community Vaccination Centres (CVCs) and outreach teams. The training, co-organised with the Hong Kong Academy of Nursing, has two parts:

  1. Online Training - It aims to equip healthcare professionals with key information about COVID-19 vaccines and vaccination, including:
    -    Overview of different types of vaccines;
    -    Vaccine management and administration;
    -    Infection control;
    -    Consent and regulatory issues;
    -    Arrangement at Community Vaccination Centres (CVCs);
    -    Handling of adverse events and incident management etc.
  2. Practical Training on Emergency Handling - This targets key personnel required to undergo practical training in clinical emergency preparedness where needed, so as to ensure the safety of vaccination programme participants. Hospital Authority will support and deliver this part of training.

The online training platform for Part One will be launched after the Chinese New Year. Colleagues can now register in advance and will be contacted in due course when the training commences. You can set up an account via the following link:
